Fair Trade/Handwoven 'Celestina' Basket

Mayan Hands is a fair trade nonprofit organization dedicated to providing economic and educational opportunities to Mayan women and girls so that they can build sustainable futures for themselves, their families and communities, as they continue to live within the culture they cherish. They work with 14 cooperatives, about 200 women, living in different areas of the Guatemalan highlands. 

Stunning Celestina basket handcrafted of pine needles and pajón, a native grass of the Guatemalan Highlands, bound together in an intricate design executed in both natural and dyed raffia. Wide shallow bowl basket with gently sloping sides is wonderful to display, it's functional as well.
